Australian Open

In 2007 the expertise of William Loud in tennis court construction and surfacing was recognised with our appointment to reconstruct and resurface all of the courts at Melbourne Park - the home of the Australian open, and at the Albert Park Tennis Centre.  Since then we have also been appointed as the Official Surface Supplier of the Australian Open series.

For the Australian Open series we rebuilt all of the courts at Melbourne Park.  This involved removing the existing surfaces, moving the drainage systems, renewing the fencing, re-asphalting and upgrading all of the courts. This comprehensive series of works was entirely managed, planned and undertaken by the experienced team at William Loud.

Prior to our appointment, Tennis Australia undertook a vigorous and exhausting process to determine which surface and provider they would employ for the Australian Open from 2008 onwards. They required a surfacing product of the highest calibre and expert installation to create an outstanding sporting surface for training the next generation of Australian champions.

William Loud’s state-of-the-art range of surfacing products have been chosen for their unequalled consistency, which provides players with the ideal tennis surface.  Characteristics such as surface pace can be adjusted to suit the requirements of each court, while the special cushioning characteristics of our tennis courts provide older players with a more forgiving playing surface.  Our tennis surfaces do not require bagging, grooming or watering and their easy and cost-effective maintenance regimes make them an ideal choice for any tennis club or private residence.
